About Me

Hi there! My name is Lauren. I am the mom of four furbabies. Three dogs and one cat (plus a few feral cats that we feed). Don’t worry, you’ll hear more about them later. I am an avid adventurer, gardener, home chef, reader and all-around-hobbyist. I guess that’s why I’m here. I am super excited to share what I’ve learned through trial and error with you as I’ve dived into my many hobbies. I’ll be breaking this blog into four primary areas: health, adventure and entertainment. A little more about me first.

I live with my wonderful man and our four-legged children (I promise, I’ll get to those cuties soon) in Northern Virginia. Nestled in the Blueridge Mountains, we are lucky to live close to the Appalachian Trail, the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers, driving distance to the wild wonders of West Virginia, and the adventurous Shenandoah National Park. I’ve always loved the great outdoors but it wasn’t until we lived in this incredible place that the adventurer in me truly blossomed.

My girl, Paisley. Also known as Crazy Paisley, Pais, and My Girl. She is my adventure girl. Paisley is a border collie-lab mix. We adopted her when she was six months old, and being a border collie mix, she still has the energy of a puppy. Her favorite adventures include daily visits to the garden with her brothers, any type of hike and walks, and going for floats on the kayak with me. As long as she is with me, Daddy or her brothers, she’s a happy girl.

Last pup, but certainly not the least, Laker. He is the epitome of an English lab. He loves nothing more than snuggles, but when things get exciting around our house, it is going to grab any toy (or three) in sight and bring it to you for playtime. His wiggle butts are my favorite greeting when I get home. Laker and Paisley are inseparable. Seriously, if one is apart from the other, they will search the house high and low until they are together again. Laker has been a wonderful additional to our pack.

And then there’s Ellie (the tabby), the queen bee at 15 years old. She was my first cat ever. She is always getting into trouble and can be described as a dog-cat. So picture a dog…who can get on the counters. Trouble with a capital “T”.

Anywho, enough about our pets, I am so happy you’re here and I am excited to share my hobbies with you! Please don’t be shy in leaving comments and what you’ve learned though trial and error. I am excited to learn from each of you!
